KB9260

This AT91SAM9260-based (ARM926) stand-alone computer is an excellent choice for thin-client, low-cost, low-power consumption computing, machine vision applications, and web server/web-enabled applications.

The small footprint and low power requirements (supports Power-over-Ethernet, PoE) make the KB9260 ideally suited for facility applications and remote computing as well as general purpose computing.

The optional USB host port power supply has been designed to deliver extra power for most USB hard drives. This enables the KB9260 to plug-in and power an extra USB hard drive - even via PoE! Applications that demand a very large storage space, in excess of the on-board NAND, can utilize off-the-shelf USB hard drives.

The configurable GPIO signals, timers, PWMs, ADCs, programmable clocks, and serial channels make the KB9260 an excellent fit for embedded controls, remote monitoring, and robotics applications. See the links under "More Information" at right for sample source code to control the GPIO pins and read the ADC channels.

Please note: the KB9260 supports 2 programmable clocks.

The KB9260 is now shipping from our on-line store.

Development kits

The board is offered in two package options:

Basic Option

This option includes a KB9260 board with boot loader, recent Linux kernel (currently 2.6.24), and Buildroot/uClibc installed. RAM and NAND flash sizes are configurable options.

Debian Development Kit Option

This option includes a KB9260 board with boot loader, recent Linux kernel (currently 2.6.24), and Debian base system installed. The board is configured with 64 MB RAM and 1 GB NAND flash. Power supply, schematics, and USB-serial debug cable are also included.

The following options are also available:
USB host port (mounted on back side of board)
Power options: none (external regulation), integrated auxiliary module (for use with wall supply), integrated PoE module.

Open source packages are used in both options and these sources are available for download from the corresponding external sites as well as KwikByte FTP servers.

A sample Ångström root file system is also available for download (at right). This is a flat file tree taken from the sample console image built at Linux4SAM (Requires EABI kernel).
